Words of sanity expressed so elegantly. It may not be advice but I find such wisdom in it.

So the smoke from the Canadian fires is visiting you. Where do you live, if I may ask? I am in eastern Tennessee, and we have a little of the smoke but you can't smell it or sense it other than in a faint haze when you gaze toward the, appropriately named in this case, Smoky Mountains.

I am in North East Ohio. Less than an hour South of Cleveland and Lake Erie. It’s been hazy on and off - the air has been just slightly acrid some days. And thank you for the kind words!

So on some days you live in Acrid Ohio? Or wait, I think I mean Akron....

Just kidding. So I'm almost due south of you, and you must be a little south of Akron.

Knoxville. My partner Blake grew up in the mountains near the Tri state area. We visit up there often.

I love the Asheville area. I co-own a house there with 2 friends. They live in it, I live with Blake in Knoxville. If Blake were to precede me dying, which I am not hoping for at all, but if it happened, I would likely move in to my Asheville house. One of the co-owner friends is a very dear friend whom I met in San Francisco in 1980 when we both lived there. We have remained very close ever since, taking hiking vacations together every so often.
